PURPOSE:The titled composition which is blended with oil paints to provide them with viscosity and thixotropic properties and to improve grab, etc., comprising (A) a drying oil, a diamine salt of a copolymer of a drying oil and a vinyl group-containing compound, and a condensate of a dimer acid and a polyhydric alcohol. CONSTITUTION:(A) Preferably 25-75wt% drying oil (e.g., linseed, etc.) is blended with (B) 15-70wt% (solid content) diamine salt of a copolymer of a drying oil and a vinyl group-containing compound (e.g., styrene), and/or condensate of a dimer acid (e.g., oleic acid, etc.) and a polyhydric alcohol (e.g., ethylene glycol, etc.) with stirring, to give the aimed composition. Preferably 0-20wt% loading pigment such as ultrafine silica, etc., is added to the composition to adjust viscosity.
