PURPOSE:To obtain a precise lap allowance for a tyre member, by measuring the length of the tyre member, and adjusting a molding drum correspondingly to the length that is obtained by subtracting the lap allowance when the tyre member is joined. CONSTITUTION:The length of a tyre member (C) that has been cut to correspond to the perimeter of a tyre is measured by a measuring apparatus 71, and the perimeter of a molding drum 4 is adjusted to the length obtained by subtracting the lap allowance when the tyre member (C) is joined from the measured length. A precise lap allowance can be obtained, the burden on the operator of the molding machine can be substantially reduced, and scatter of a tyre quality due to the personal error of the operator can be eliminated. |
