METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING CONCRETE ARTICLES

A method is provided for making concrete articles, in which the concrete is introduced into a mould, compacted in the mould and then the mould is removed. In order for the quality of the finished concrete articles to remain as consistently high as possible irrespective of the humidity of the moulded concrete, the humidity of the concrete to be introduced into the mould is measured and a parameter which determines the compacting is controlled as a function of the measured humidity. In order to do this, a measuring probe (25, 26) for measuring the humidity of the concrete is provided in the apparatus for carrying out the method, and is connected to the input of a control (37) which actuates a compacting device (2) which compacts the concrete in the mould (7), in accordance with a time selected by the control (37) as a function of the humidity.
