PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a character pattern memory adress rapidly without increasing of memory amount by indicating by a direct conversion table indirectly, with a sequential index conversion table which is divided in a smaller unit. CONSTITUTION:An address 70 of (A1A2)16 in a direct conversion table 30 is indexed first by a cord (A1A2)16, when a style of type 0, (A1A2)16 81 and a style of type 2, (A1A2)16 82 appear in data 80. It is known that a character of the style of type 0 (A1A2) is registered, since a head bit 71 is indicated as 1, a substance address which is housed in 74 is registered in a page buffer as a character pattern memory address of a proper character. The next character 2 (A1A2)16 is indexed by the address (A1A2)16 70 of a direct conversion table 30, then a second byte 2 is investigated, since a bit 72 corresponding character 2 is 0, and a second sequential index table SAT1 40 is indexed successively, since a second bit 73 is 1. |
