PURPOSE:To secure an optimum starting characteristic all the time, by making a step motor stop at a step motor control center value in time of feedback controlling, in case of a device installing the step motor as a regulating means for an air-fuel ratio. CONSTITUTION:When an ignition key switch 1 is turned off to stop the engine running, output of a detecting circuit 6 comes to an L level but output 8a of a control circuit 7 keeps a high level whereby a main relay 4 keeps up its on-state intact. On the other hand, the control circuit 7 detects that the output of the detecting circuit 6 is the L level and stops the air-fuel ratio feedback control that follows output of an oxygen sensor 3. Simultaneously with this, a step number of a step motor 5 is moved up to a step motor control center value usually calculated in time of air-fuel ratio feedback controlling. After completion of the control aforesaid, the output 8a is degraded to the L level, setting output of an OR circuit 8 down as the L level, a transistor 9 and the main relay 4 are turned to OFF.
