PURPOSE:The titled composition for coating compounds having improved storage stability, suppressing occurrence of white rust, comprising flaky powder of zinc(alloy) containing ultrafine metal oxide of silica, alumina, or titanium oxide and a specific higher fatty acid(metallic salt). CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition comprising (A) 0.1-5.0wt% ultrafine metal oxide consisting of silica, alumina, or titanium oxide, (B) 0.1-0.5wt% higher fatty acid (metallic salt of IIA, IIB, and IIIA of the periodic table), and (C) flaky powder of zinc or zinc alloy. Ultrafine metal oxide having <=50mmu average particle diameter of primary particles is preferable as the component A. A higher fatty acid(metallic salt) having <=100mu maximum length, 1.5-30mu average longer diameter, <=5mu average thickness, and >=3 aspect ratio(longer diameter/thickness) in a flaky state is preferable as the component B.
