PURPOSE:To allow the artificial and automatic adjustment of characteristics of a suspension with an air spring by interposing a characteristic adjustable bush between a characteristic adjustable buffer and a car body and making each of the characteristics adjustable including the air spring using the control of a valve body within a piston rod. CONSTITUTION:When an actuator 18 is operated by the artificial operation of a driver or the sensor information, a valve body 130 is rotated. Consequently, a piston rod 26 is rotated and a hole that is not illustrated for the piston rod 26 is connected to holes 56, 57, 80 and 82. The A and B chambers of a shock absorber 12 are connected by a small hole and intermediate damping force is generated. In addition, the main and sub air chambers 72 and 74 of a spring chamber 14 are connected and intermediate spring constant is generated. The first and second fluid chambers 100 and 102 of a bush 16 are connected and intermediate spring constant is generated. Besides, following the rotation of the valve body 130, a path is enlarged and damping force is reduced. As a result, the damping force and spring characteristics of the entire suspension can be adjusted automatically and artificially. |
