PURPOSE:To prevent the destruction of memory data due to overrun, by detecting an abnormal action made by the control device (MPU) due to the influence of noise or cosmic rays, and by stopping the whole magnetic bubble memory device. CONSTITUTION:Each kind of control instructions issued from a host (outside main computer) 1 is inputted to a control means 2 and monitoring means 3 through a signal line 11. By the software of MPU inside the control means 2, the pulse is outputted at the every specific period is issued as far as writing and reading actions are executed normally by the MPU. The monitoring means 3 is continuously monitoring the pulse, and once it detects that the pulse is not issued at a specific interval, it regards the MPU being overrunning, and outputs the abnormality detection signal through signal line 341, and at the same time it is informed to the host 1. Then a writing means 4 and reading means 5 are stopped so that the memory data in the magnetic bubble memory 6 is not destroyed.
