PURPOSE:To start access to a branched address quickly by cutting off a memory cycle for prefetching when the prefetch address at the generation of the branch indicates an S-RAM. CONSTITUTION:When an address for prefetch is set up in a register 9, whether access is provided to the S-RAM or a D-RAM is discriminated by a discriminating means 7. At the end timing M3, an FF in a memory control means 5 is set up. On the other hand, a prefetched instruction is set up in a prefetching means 2 synchronously with the timing M3 and then executed. Under the conditions that branch has been generated, prefetching has been executed to the S-RAM and it is not the end timing M3, a memory using request is forcedly generated by a forced end means 4 and access to the branched address is started.
