1,112,776. Embossing; hand-stamps. BANKERS & MERCHANTS Inc. 20 Oct., 1965 [20 Oct., 1964], No. 44513/65. Headings B6D and B6J. [Also in Division C3] Material having uniformly spaced and sized micropores throughout, e.g. foamed polyvinyl chloride, is brought into contact under heat and pressure with a mould having recessed characters therein, the heat at the contacting face where unrecessed causing fusing of the surface zone and permanent compression of the material, while those parts of the material which are forced into the recesses remain unfused and therefore porous in the shape of the characters. The resulting material can be filled with ink and used as a hand-stamp. |
