PURPOSE:To detect exactly an original size by a simple constitution, by moving a carriage having a detecting means to a fixed scale direction from a holding position, and detecting the original size, in case a closing operation of an original cover is detected. CONSTITUTION:The first carriage 411 is held at a position which is most separated from a fixed scale 21. In this state, an original cover 11 is opened, and an original G is set to the fixed scale 21, and thereafter, when the original cover 11 is brought to a closing operation, a microswitch 140 is turned on. By this on-signal, a light emitting element 131 of a size detecting part 130 is lighted, and the first carriage 411 is moved in the direction of the fixed scale 21. By an output of a photodetector 132 of the size detecting part 130 of this time, a size of the original G is detected. |
