发明名称 INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING LIGHT ABSORPTION CHARACTERISTIC OF THIN FILM
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of the light absorption characteristic of a measuring instrument by making excitation light incident from a liquid side on a thin film developed on a liquid surface so as to reflect totally on said surface, providing a medium of which the refractive index changes largely with heat on the thin film and making incident probe light thereon so that said light is polarized. CONSTITUTION:The thin film 4 is developed on the liquid surface 3 in a liquid tank 1. The excitation light 11 is emitted from an excitation light source 10 and is intermitted by a chopper 12. The intermitted light is made incident from the liquid side on the thin film 4 by which the light is totally reflected. The medium of which the refractive index changes largely with heat, for example, lithium biobate or the like 14 is provided on the film 4. The probe light 6 is passed through the inside of the medium 14 and is polarized in the medium 14 by the effect of the excitation of the film 14. The quantity of the polarized light is detected by a detector 7 and the light absorption characteristic of the thin film is measured. Since the instrument is so constituted as to polarize largely the probe light by the medium provided on the thin film, the accuracy of measuring the light absorption characteristic of the measuring instrument is improved.
