PURPOSE:To extend a time length between maintenance times, and to enhance image density by forming an electrophotographic apparatus composed of a photosensitive body made chiefly of an amorphous silicon, and a developing machine contg. a one-component type developer, controlling a thickness of a toner layer on the sleeve of the developing machine to the distance between the sleeve and said body or more, and superposing AC voltage on the developing bias of said machine. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body 11 is composed by forming a p type amorphous silicon hydride film on an aluminum drum, on this film another n type amorphous silicon hydride film, and on this film an amorphous silicon carbide film as a surface layer. The developing machine 12 contains a one- component type developer. The stainless sleeve 16 is installed on the outside of a magnet roll 13. Voltage formed by superposing AC voltage having 1,000-3,000Hz and 300-2,000Vp-p on the developing bias 18 having +20-+150V is applied to the sleeve 16. The distance between the body 11 and the sleeve 16, i.e., the developing gap is 0.2-0.5mm, and a magnetic brush regulating blade 17 controls the toner layer thickness on the surface of the sleeve 16 to said gap or more. |
