PURPOSE:To prevent the propagation of bacteria by preventing the stagnation of a transmitted solution, in a spiral type liquid separation apparatus, by opening the outermost end of a leaf comprising a semipermeable membrane in the spiral direction thereof and stirring the transmitting solution from the outside. CONSTITUTION:A raw solution flow passage material 5 is held between leaves 40, 40', wherein a transmitted solution flow passage material 3 is held between two semipermeable membrane 4, 4', to be spirally wound around a hollow tube 6. Two semipermeable membranes 4, 4' are adhered at both end surfaces thereof in the axial direction and the leaves 40, 40' are adhered only at the final end parts 2 thereof in the spiral direction. A raw solution is flowed through raw solution flow passages 8 in parallel to the hollow tube 6 fro one side end surface in the axial direction and the transmitted solution transmitted through the semipermeable membranes 4, 4' is flowed to the hollow tube 6 from transmitted solution flow passages 9 to be flowed into the hollow tube 6 through small apertures 7. A part of the transmitted solution gathering to the hollow tube 6 and discharged out of the system is flowed to the transmitted flow passages 9 from the aperture parts at the outer end of the leaf 40 to be mixed with the solution transmitted through the semipermeable membranes.
