PURPOSE:To reduce man-hour required for joining work and improve yield and reliability by providing glass for joining at the joint of nonmagnetic sliders and a magnetic core beforehand, and joining the magnetic core and nonmagnetic slider by the glass for joining. CONSTITUTION:Low melting point glass 8 is filled in a part of opposite faces 2a, 3a of nonmagnetic sliders 2, 3 to a magnetic core 1 and joined by heating at a temperature below softening point of the glass used to form the magnetic core 1. By this way, man-hour required for joining work in manufacturing the magnetic head can be reduced by about 1/4 compared with bonding with an organic bonding agent. As positional change of the work is not caused, retightening etc. is not necessary, defective joining position and breakage are reduced, and yield is improved. Further, as the glass 8 for joining is inorganic material, the change with the passage of time in shape to the magnetic core and nonmagnetic sliders 2, 3 does not occur, the reliability is improved. |
