PURPOSE:To provide an end face type thermal head capable of reducing the size and weight of a recording part, by a construction wherein a thermal head is protruded from a base and an end part of a cover member, and the cover member and/or the base is provided with a guide member for a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:The thermal head element 6 is adhered through a major surface 1c thereof to the base 7 formed of a metal such as aluminum, and the cover member 8 is press-fixed to a major surface 1a of the element 6. Of the element 6, a tip part including an end face 1a on which heating elements 3 are provided is slightly protruded from the base 7 and the cover member 8, in the fitted condition. The base 7 and the cover member 8 are provided respectively with the guide members 11, 12 for the recording paper. The guide members 11, 12 guide the recording paper 13 when the paper 13 is introduced to the tip part of the element 6. |
