PURPOSE:To improve pressure fixability and to eliminate offset by using a specified acrylate copolymer or methacrylate copolymer as the fixing component of a core material, and coating it with an outer shell. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds of acrylate and/or methacrylate copolymers are used as a fixing component. This copolymer is obtained by polymerizing a tackiness giving component, such as ethyl acrylate, with an agglomeration- tendency giving component, such as butyl methacrylate, and the core material is obtained by dispersing magnetic particles, a colorant, etc., into this copolymer. The core material is coated with an outer shell made of an epoxy resin, polyurethane resin, or the like to obtain an microencapsulated toner. The use of the copolymers made from 2 kinds of acrylate monomers as the fixing component permits pressure fixability to be improved and offset phenomena to be prevented. |
