<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a plant virus inhibitory substance, by cultivating a callus derived from a plant belonging to the genus Mirabilis, and extracting and separating the aimed substance having inhibitory action on plant virus from the cultivated cells. CONSTITUTION:Seeds, leaves, stems, roots, etc. of a plant belonging to the genus Mirabilis are washed, and cut into tissue fragments, which are then sterilized and cultivated to derive a callus therefrom. A buffer solution is added to the resultant cultivated cells, and the cells are ground and centrifuged, etc. to give a supernatant part, which is then passed through an ion exchanger, etc. to collect a fraction exhibiting antiviral activity and give the aimed plant virus inhibitory substance.</p> |
