PURPOSE:To dye the titled film uniformly without problems of putrefaction, public nuisance, peeling of film, by forming a film of a specified photoreactive resin composition on the surface of a base, reacting this film by irradiation with actinic light and dyeing it with an anionic dye. CONSTITUTION:A film is formed on the surface of a base (e.g., glass plate) by coating it with a photoreactive resin composition comprising a copolymer of a vinyl monomer having a photosensitive group (e.g., 4'-methacryloyloxy-4- stilbazole) with a copolymerizable vinyl monomer having a group having an affinity for an anionic dye (e.g., C.I. Acid Yellow 17), e.g., (N,N-dimethyl amino)ethyl acrylate, and, optionally, a photoreaction initiator (e.g., benzophenone) and a solvent (e.g., 2-ethoxyethanol). This film is reacted by irradiation with actinic light and dyed with an anionic dye. The film can be dyed without public nuisance and peeling of film, while problems, such as putre faction and large variance, encountered when a conventional natural product such as gelatin is used can be eliminated.
