PURPOSE:To compact an automatic transmission gear, by a method wherein a servo piston is formed with plural pitons coupled in series. CONSTITUTION:A first piston 10 and a second piston 11 are slidably inserted into a stem rear part 5b. The first piston 10 is provided at the front with a pressure receiving part 10a and at the rear with a cylindrical support part 10b. The outer periphery of the pressure receiving part 10a is slidably engaged with the interior of a cylinder 1a, and the support part 10b is slidably engaged with the interior of a support cylinder 6c. A support part 11a and a support part 11b are located to the front and the rear, respectively, of the second piston 11, and a pressure receiving part 11c is situated to the central part, the support part 11a is slidably engaged with the interior of the support cylinder 6c, and the pressure receiving part 11c is engaged with the interior of a cylinder 6b.
