PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a thermoelectric battery by specifying the ratio of the mean particle diameter of a reducing agent to that of an oxidizing agent of a thermogenic material, which is formed by filtering a suspension of basic components comprising the reducing agent, oxidizing agent and inorganic monofilaments and also by specifying the diameter and length of each inorganic monofilament. CONSTITUTION:Basic components of a thermoelectric material comprising a reducing agent such as zirconium, an oxidizing agent such as barium chromate and inorganic monofilaments such as syntehtic wool are suspended in water and a predetermined amount of the suspension is poured into a filter having a filter medium such as paper filter, glass filter or the like, thereby a desirable thermogenic material 2 is constituted. In this case, the ratio of the mean particle diameter of the reducing agent to that of the oxidizing agent is 10:1-100:1, while the diameter and length of each inorganic monofilament ranges 0.5-20mum and 5-30mm. respectively. And by specifying, for example, the mean particle diameter of the reducing agent, the diameter of particles to be retained by the paper filter made of pulp and a filtering time to 40-20mum, 7-3mum and 500-200 seconds or so, the thermogenic material is formed. With this constitution the thermogenic material of high quality and high reliability can be obtained. |
