PURPOSE:To obtain a self-fluxing iron alloy having superior wear resistance by adding specified percentages of Ni, Cr, Si, B and C to Fe. CONSTITUTION:An alloy for a pad forming material for a valve rocker arm consisting of, by weight, 9-14% Ni, 13-20% Cr, 6-8% Si, 2-3% B, 0.7-2% C and the balance Fe is manufactured. The alloy has high wear resistance and reduces considerably the extent of wear of the opposite material, so it is suitable for use as a pad forming material.
