PURPOSE:To make the most of the long life of an image carrier and to facilitate the operation of maintenance, etc., by constituting integrally parts which need to be replaced except the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 2 as the image carrier is supported rotatably on the housing of an electrophotographic copying machine 1, and a process means which forms an image on the photoconductive layer of the drum 2 is formed integrally at the periphery of the drum 2. This process means consists of an electrostatic charger 3, short-focus optical element array 4, developing device 5, transfer charger 6, and cleaning device 7 arranged successively in the rotating direction. This housing 8 is guided and supported 9 on a guide rail 9 fixed to the main machine side and united with the machine 1 detachably. Then, the process means employs cartridge constitution and the long life of the drum 2 as the image carrier is utilized to facilitate the operation of maintenance, etc. |
