PURPOSE:A microorganism in Corynebacterium, resistant to 2-thiazolylalanine, sulfaguanidine or 2-fluoropyruvic acid is used to produce a large amount of L-ornithine. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism in Corynebacterium such as Corynebacterium glutamicum H-3795 (FERM-656) (resistant to 2-thiazolylalanine), Corynebacterium glutamicum H-3796 (FERM-657) (resistant to sulfaguanidine), Corynebacterium glutamicum H-3797 (FERM-658) (resistant to sulfaguanidine and 2- thiazolylalanine) is cultured in a medium containing sulfaguanidine, 2- thiazolylalanine or 2-fluoropyruvic acid. The cultivation is carried out under aerobic conditions and L-ornithine is collected from the fermentation mixture according to a usual method. |
