<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the concn. of Mg in Al or Al alloy scrap to <=0.01% by putting the scrap in a molten flux bath consisting of specified weight percentages of NaCl, KCl and AlF3. CONSTITUTION:The composition of a molten flux bath is composed of 35-45wt% NaCl, 35-45wt% KCl and 15-25wt% AlF3. Al or Al alloy scrap is put in the molten flux bath in >1 weight ratio of flux:scrap, and it is melted at 700-850 deg.C and mixed with the molten flux. Mg in the scrap is absorbed in the molten flux and removed.</p> |
