PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in the operating characteristic of the count number of sheets of both-side copies by so controlling both-side copying that the set number of sheets and the number of copying sheets are matched when there is any feeding miss, jam or the like in the case of performing both-side copying. CONSTITUTION:When a both-side command switch is turned ON, an intermediate tray damper opening-closing solenoid 19 goes ON to make a pass to the intermediate tray 17. The front side copies are stocked in the intermediate tray 17 in the course of (a), (b), (d). Next, when print start is done, the sheets of the paper are discharged from the intermediate tray 17 in the order of (e), (a), (b), (c). Thereupon, when there is jam between the upper, lower cassettes 3, 4 and intermediate tray 17, a paper feed counter is substracted by that number of sheets to be matched to the number registered at the starting and the sheets of paper are fed into the intermediate tray 17 until the count value of a photo sensor 16 and the registered number coincide. When jam occurs at the back-side copying, the operation of registering -1 is done and the pilot lamp of both-side recopying goes on. In this way, the operating charecteristic of both-side copying is improved. |
