PURPOSE:To simply wash a car by detecting the revolution resistance applied onto a brush for washing car through the displacement of a member for holding the brush at a fixed position, and operating the switches for controlling the advance/retreat and the rise/lowering of the brush. CONSTITUTION:As for a car washing machine, a top brush 3 is equipped with a raising and lowering shaft 7 and a revolution shaft 9 which is coaxially arranged onto the outer peripheral side and onto which a number of brushes 8 are planted onto the outer periphery. In this case, an arm 20 is supported through a bearing 21 onto the side part of a motor 13 for revolving the brushes on the raising and lowering shaft 7. Further, the basic part of an air cylinder 22 as a fixed-position retaining member is axially installed 23 in swingable ways onto one edge part of the arm 20, and the rod 22a of the cylinder 22 is axially installed 25 onto a plate 24 fixed onto the side surface of the reduction gear apparatus 15 of the motor 13. When the resistance of the revolution shaft 9 exceeds a certain value, a plate 24 is shifted by compressing the air in the cylinder 22, and a various sorts of controlling switches S1-S4 are operated.
