PURPOSE:To produce an external plat made of a metal for building which takes full advantage of the characteristics intrinsic to a metallic blank material by embossing a metallic plat having a surface subjected a bright treatment, corroding the recessed surface part to make said part dark white and allowing a metallic bright surface to remain on the projecting surface part then coating a paint having high clarity over the entire surface. CONSTITUTION:The metallic plate 1 such as stainless steel plate, Al plate or copper plate of which the surface is subjected to the bright treatment is embossed by a convex type roll 4 and a concave type roll 5 to form the projecting surface part 6 and the recessed surface part 7 on the surface. The high-viscosity paint 11 such as coal tar is then transferred only to the projecting surface part 6 of the plate 1 by means of the 1st roller 9, the 2nd roller 10 and the 3rd roller 12. The recessed surface part of the plate 1 is corroded by an etching soln. 13 consisting of FeCl3 and is made dark white. The metallic plate is then passed through the inside of a coal tar soln. 30 of lacquer or thinner and the coal tar on the projecting surface part is removed with brushed rollers to expose the metallic surface. The surface is cleaned by soap water, etc., 32 and thereafter the paint 34 such as lacquer having high clarity is coated over the entire surface. The external plate made of the metal which takes full advantage of the characteristic intrinsic to the metal itself is thus produced.
