PURPOSE:To obtain the low carbon steel having superior cold forgeability and machinability, by incorporating specific percentage of C, Si, Mn, S, SolAl, Ca, and O to Fe. CONSTITUTION:The low carbon steel consisting of 0.03-0.01% C, <=0.02% Si, 0.02-0.05% Mn, 0.010-0.030% S, <=0.020% SolAl, <=0.0040% Ca, 0.0150% O, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is manufactured. This low carbon steel has superior cold forgeability and machinability, and can be effectively used as the material requiring cutting after cold forging.
