Process and plant for regeneration of the hydrochloric solution, especially of a spent hydrochloric solution for pickling sheet steel, this plant comprising an oxidation reactor, a hydrolysis reactor and a condenser connected to the outlet of the hydrolysis reactor, in order to recover the steam and the hydrochloric gas in the liquid state. This plant is characterised in that the hydrolysis reactor 6 is of the stirred reactor type operating at atmospheric pressure and comprising a heating jacket enabling a constant temperature ranging from 160 to 190 DEG C to be maintained in the liquid medium. <IMAGE>
