Conversion of aliphatic hydrocarbon(s) to aromatics

Prodn. of C6+ aromatics and/or high-octane fuel components from C6-10 aliphatic hydrocabrons is effected by dehydrogenation and aromatisation in a single reaction step using a solid catalyst. The reaction is pref. effected at 450-650 deg. C and atmospheric pressure with an LHSV of 2-10 using a Cr2O3/Al2O3 catalyst in a parallel arrangement of at least 3 nested-tube reactors operating alternatively.
