The impact pulveriser for breaking up stone has a vertically mounted rotor with an opening at its upper end to receive the stone. The stone falls onto a central plate (7) and is flung outwards through openings (16) in the rotor and impacts the walls of the stationary surrounding housing. The rotor has a number of hollow vanes (11) with wear strips (13) fixed to the vane tips. Each wear strip is made of hard metal and abuts against a carrier strip (12) with two inclined surfaces. The radially inward part of the abutting surface lies in a plane (B) which is tangential to the central disc (7).
