<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the cost and easily manage a jam, according to a method wherein the sheet conveying belt between a receiving portion and a deflecting portion is enabled to reversely rotated, so that the load of a motor is decreased. CONSTITUTION:When sorting operation is finished, the motor M1 of a deflecting portion an a conveying motor are reversely rotated at the same time. Therefore, when it is confirmed that a deflecting portion 10 is raised and returned to a home position, the reverse rotations of the conveying motor and the motor M1 are stopped at the same time. When a jam is generated in a sorter 1, the rotation of the conveying motor is stopped, and an operator turns on a switch SW at his option, and then the conveying motor is reversely rotated, and a jammed sheet S is returned to the position in which the jammed sheet can be easily removed. As described above, a cost can be reduced and jam managing operation is improved because an excess load is not loaded to the driving motor of the deflecting portion and a motor having high torque is not required.</p> |
