A polyhydroxy-alkylamine containing tertiary amino groups which is the reaction product of an alkylene oxide and a basic nitrogen compound and which has a hydroxyl number between 150 and 800 is used to stabilize a master batch to be mixed with a polyisocyanate for cellulated polyurethane production, said master batch comprising (1) a polyol which is the reaction product of a polyhydroxy compound containing 3 to 8 hydroxyl groups with an alkylene oxide; (2) a phosphorus-containing polyol oxyalkylation product which is prepared by reacting an alcohol containing 1 to 4 hydroxyl groups with an acid containing a phosphoryl or thiophosphoryl group or an anhydride thereof to form an acid ester and reacting this with a C2- 8 alkylene oxide (includes styrene oxide), and if desired (3) a blowing agent; (4) a surfactant; and/or (5) a catalyst of urethane formation. The polyhydroxyalkylamine may be derived from NH3 or a primary, secondary or tertiary amine. The polyols (1) and (2) and the isocyanates are preferably those disclosed in the parent Specification.
|
