PURPOSE:To make it possible to exchange full bobbins rapidly with empty bobbins in a roving machine, by providing a doffer having an empty bobbin transferring member, full bobbin transferring member and doffing mechanism in a machine body moving intermittently along the front of the machine frame of the roving machine. CONSTITUTION:A doffer 18 moving intermittently along the front of a machine frame of a roving machine 2 using a top-supported type flyer 1 is provided with a lifting and lowering member 88 for transferring empty bobbins by removing plural empty bobbins 16 simultaneously from a from a bobbin transfer body 8, hanging the empty bobbins 16, and standing by on a transfer rail 7 installed above the doffer 18, and transferring the empty bobbins 16 to a position at the same height as a bobbin rail 3 of the roving machine 2, lifting and lowering member 92 for transferring full bobbins by lifting full bobbins 17 placed thereon at positions at almost the same height as the bobbin rail 3 to the position of the bobbin transfer body 8, and hanging the full bobbins 17 thereon and doffing mechanisms 70 and 125 for transferring the full bobbins 17 from the bobbin rail 3 to the lifting and lowering member 92 for transferring the full bobbins 17 and transferring the empty bobbins 16 from the lifting and lowering member 88 for transferring the empty bobbins 16 to the bobbin rail 3.
