Screening electrode for transformer step switch

An oil-immersed screening electrode for step switches of step transformers is in the form of a closed ring, esp. of non-circular form. The ring is made from a circular-section, conducting tube wrapped in paper. The tube is a corrugated tube, made from several layers of wrapped aluminium foil and is filled with a multi-component hardening foam or plastics rigid foam.
