The invention relates to a multifunction switch for controlling automobile warning lighting functions. The switch includes a control lever 1 capable of a rotational movement R about its axis YY, a tilting movement B in a first plane and a pivoting movement P in a second plane orthogonal to the first. A flexible sleeve 4 is mounted between the end button 2 of the lever and the body 3 of the switch. The sleeve 4 is mechanically rigid with the body of the switch and consists of a flexible material. The sleeve simultaneously fulfils the functions of protecting the lever 1 and the internal parts of the body of the switch, and of supporting the displaying of emblems 52 representing the mechanical and functional controls of the lever other than those involving its rotation.
