The display counter esp. for food consists of an underneath part supported by a frame and on which is a display cabinet. The cabinet has on the serving side, a work-top crosswise to it and a display-surface inside the cabinet. On the display-surface is at least one flat front goods-holder which slopes down on the customers side by means of a support. A second support holds a back goods-holder sloping upwards above the work-surface. The second support is mounted inside the cabinet and supports the back goods-holder as the latter is cantilevered backwards above the work-surface.
