PURPOSE:To check easily the constituting including packages, which are not objects of initialization, with a small-scale service processor (SVP) by using a correct answer value of the number of mounted packages as data to be stored in the SVP. CONSTITUTION:At the power-on time, an SVP 5 checks mounting signals from packages 1A, 1B, 2A-2C of processing units 1 and 2 through an SVP adapter 4 and a bus 3. The SVP 5 counts the number of coming package mounting signals and stores the counted value in an RAM 12. When checking of all packages is terminated, the counted value in the RAM 12 is equal to the number of actual mounted packages. An instruction executing part 11 of the SVP 5 compares and collates this counted value indicating the number of packages with the correct answer value of the number of normally mounted packages which is stored preliminarily on a floppy disc 13. They coincide with each other if the constitution is normal; but if the constitution is abnormal because of excess or lack of package, they do not coincide with each other, and the abnormality of the constitution is detected. |
