NEW MATERIAL:Indium acetylacetonate ethylacetoacetate of formula I (n is 1 or 2). EXAMPLE:Indium diacetylacetonate monoethylacetoacetate. USE:It has high stability and solubility in an organic solvent, and is useful for forming an electrically conductive transparent coating film. Since the compound is soluble especially in organic solvent, a paste having high concentration can be prepared easily. The paste is suitable especially for forming an electrically conductive transparent coating film for liquid crystal display element. The paste can be prepared by dissolving the compound of formula I in an organic solvent such as benzene at a concentration of 2-30wt%. A coating film having lower resistivity, e.g. an electrode can be produced by adding an organic com plex compound of tin as a resistivity-controlling agent. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting indium triisopropylate of formula II with ethyl acetoacetate of formula III and acetylacetone of formula IV.
