PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound resistant to discoloration, by carrying out the reaction of the active hydrogen compound with an isocyanate or the polymerization reaction of isocyanate in the presence of an epoxy compound as an acid acceptor. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound can be produced by carrying out the reaction of an isocyanate with an active hydrogen compound or the polymeriza tion of the isocyanate in the presence of an epoxy compound of formula having >=1 epoxy groups in the molecule (e.g. 1,2-propylene oxide, epichlorohydrin, etc.) at or above 70-80 deg.C. The amount of the epoxy compound of formula is selected to give a molar concentration of the epoxy group of 0.5-10 times, preferably 1.0-3.0 times that of the hydrolyzable chlorine in t-he isocyanate.
