In the process for producing a suspension, suitable for liquid feeding, made of silage and liquid, the silage is mechanically removed from the silo stock by means of a cutter, mixed with liquid and the suspension formed is circulated with further addition of silage until a preset concentration of silage is obtained. To carry out the process in tall silos (1), a take-off space, provided beneath the silo (1) and configured as a cyclone-like mixing chamber (6), is fed with silage by a top-removing cutter via a shaft (3) leading through the silo stock (2) and receives liquid under pressure fed via lines (13, 14), which liquid suspends the silage in the cyclone (6). The suspension is conducted in a conveying line (11) and is circulated with further addition of silage each time in the mixing chamber (6) until the desired concentration is achieved. <IMAGE>
