A universal wood shaping machine, with a machine bed (1) and a vertically-adjustable cutter spindle (3), the positioning of which in relation to a support table (94) can be varied by means of a setting device. The spindle (3) is oriented parallel to the support table (4) which is in the form of a rotary table (4) and carries, as the workpiece support, a two-part sliding table (25, 26), the parts of which can be rotated and adjusted by at least 45<o> around a pivot axis (37, 38) perpendicular to the support table (4). The shaping machine can be used for rectangular transverse shaping, for angular-transverse shaping, for longitudinal shaping and semi-circular shaping. Only a few manual movements are required for the re-setting operations.
