A window bar (10) has, to improve the stability, a T-shaped support (20) made of aluminium profile; the double glass panes (11, 12) bear perpendicularly against the longitudinal web (22) of the support, the transverse web (21) being situated on one side of the double glass panes (11, 12) and the longitudinal web projecting beyond the other side of the double glass panes (11, 12). The transverse web (21) and the projecting region of the longitudinal web are covered by wooden strips (26, 27) in such a manner that the support (20) is no longer visible. As a result, the strength of a double glass pane is greatly increased. <IMAGE>
