PURPOSE:To obtain a high C/N by adding Co to Gd-Fe alloy and by selecting a specific area of composition for the two layers of the Gd-Fe-Co alloy and Tb-Fe alloy as well as making the directions of their spontaneous magnetization in parallel. CONSTITUTION:By means of the vacuum film forming technics, a film of high coersive force is formed using an amorphous alloy TbzFeu (z=18-26 atomic %, u=100-z atomic %) which contains abundant transition metals. Then, as maintaining the vacuum, a low coersive force film is formed using an amorphous alloy Gdx(Fey, Cov)w (x=20-26 atomic %, y=50-80 atomic %, v=100-y atomic %, w=100-x atomic %) which contains abundant transition metals. By making the directions of spontaneous magnetization of both films in parallel, a recording medium of stable writing that gives a high C/N of >=60 db. available for real use, is produced. |
