A metallized reflecting flexible plastics film 12, Fig.1, is stretched over the edge of a rigid, e.g. metal, backing member 10 and a peripheral portion of the sheet is secured in a channel 11 in the member by means of a deformable strip of resilient material 14, e.g. rubber, held in the channel under compression. The channer may be dovetail, Fig.2, or rectangular, Fig.3, or part circular in section, and may be in the bottom face of the member. The channel may extend round the backing member continuously, or with inters - ruptions. One or more strips may be used. The channel may be formed by grooving or extruding and the backing member may also be circular or elliptical in plan. The channel mouth upper edge 16 may be rounded and the lower edge 17 sharp. The strip may be circular, semi-circular, or square in cross-section and may be solid or hollow. |
