In an apparatus for dividing dough into portions, a horizontal pair of rollers is arranged at the lower end of a dough supply container (1), the said rollers (2, 3) being drivable in opposite directions and being provided with cams (5, 6) which project radially beyond the circumference of the roller and the points of which meet in the common plane of the two roller spindles and in so doing cut off a portion of dough (15) which has penetrated between the rollers. In order to ensure that the cut off dough is fully separated from the rollers, each roller is partly wrapped around by an endless belt (7, 8) which has the same width as the roller (2, 3) and is guided via at least one deflection roller (9, 10; 13, 14) which is arranged above and below each roller (2, 3) and is offset outwards, the length of the belt (7, 8) being such that it is stretched when the cams (5, 6) are in their dough-cutting position. <IMAGE>
