A liquid filter having a housing (2) which receives a filter insert and which is provided with an end piece (base 8) having a feed (15) and outlet (16) for the liquid to be filtered, the base (8) being configured as a heat exchanger. The base (8), in addition to through-flow channels (25; 6) for the liquid to be filtered, which have a centrally arranged outlet channel (6) which passes through the entire height of the end piece, also has further channels (30, 32) adjacent thereto for an exchanger fluid. Within the base (8), the liquid to be filtered is conducted in an annular pipe area (25) arranged concentrically to the outlet channel (6).
