PURPOSE:To degauss a magnetic head by detecting the inclination of a degaussing head to drive the degaussing head in the state where the magnetic head is correctly brought into contact with the degaussing head. CONSTITUTION:A degaussing head 4 of a cassette type degaussing device is supported elastically by an elastic body 5 and is allowed to face a magnetic head inserting window 3 opened on the front of a cassette case 1 so that the head 4 is freely moved forward and backward. The position of the head 4 is determined by a positioning member 17, and the inclination of the head 4 is detected by inclination detecting parts 7 and 8 consisting of a light emitting element and a photo transistor, and detection signals from detecting parts 7 and 8 are inputted to a wiring board 10 where a driving circuit of the head 4 is wired. Outputs of detecting parts 7 and 8 are boosted by boosting circuit 12 and are applied to a switching circuit 13. The switching output of the circuit 13 is processed by a constant voltage circuit 14, and an oscillating circuit 15 is driven by charging and discharging of a large-capacity capacitor C1, and the output is applied to the head 4. Only when a magnetic head 2 is correctly brought into contact with the head 4, the head 4 is driven to degauss completely the head 2. |
