PURPOSE:To restart automatically a faulty line without intervention of the operator by outputting a restart command signal of a line given to an inforation processor recognized as a faulty line to a channel device based on line information. CONSTITUTION:When a timer device 13 gives a restart command signal (d) for a line to a restart processing section 14 at each time according to a time supervisory command signal given from a high-order program 11, the restart processing section 14 scans line state information possessed by a line state management section 12. In giving a data transmission/reception command to the channel device 20 by arestart command signal (e) to a faulty line, the command is decoded by a communication controller 30 and restart is requested to all lines of an information processing unit 40. When the request is seccessful, the restart processing section 14 informs the restoration line information to a high-order program 11 by using a signal (f) and to the line state management section 12 by a signal (g). When the restoration of all faulty lines is finished, the processing section 14 gives a timer stop command signal (h). When the request is not successful, the restart operation of the said faulty lines is repeated.
